sharonaa94 Store Sapphire Sapphire was reborn from the brand new Tessa sculpt by Master Artist Sabilla Bos. This doll is sculpted so perfectly and was such a joy to reborn. Thank you Sabilla for providing such a beautiful doll . Date Reborn: 08/14 /2008 Weight: 6 lbs, 6 oz. Length: 18 inches I am so pleased at how adorable and real looking Sapphire turned out. I am so amazed by these babies and I am the artist!!! I love to take my dolls out before I list them so I can report to you how the "realism test" went. I took Sapphire out yesterday to a local diner where my daughter works. The diner was at a stand still when people found out Sapphire was a doll! Both customers and employees were just going crazy over her. I did not have to hold her at all, she was being held just like a real little baby by everybody that came by my table. Sapphire came as a kit so the only thing I had to do was give her a warm sudsy bath to remove any residue from her skin. I use Genesis paints and a process known as honeycombing which is very time consuming but adds such realism that I feel that it is worth the time. I add many, many layers of paint to create a very realistic skin tone. Every detail from veining to the creases is completed to achieve the most realistic look possible. I finish the skin with a matte finish to add texture and realism. I took Sapphire's photos outdoors so you can see her skin tone in the best possible light. Even though her pictures are very good, you must see her in person to really know how adorable she is. I take great care in creating beautiful textured skin for each baby. I want people to gasp in disbelief when they find out my dolls are not real! Extreme realism is what I always aim for. Sapphire is made of of a very soft vinyl. She is so huggable and realistic feeling! Besides skin tone, excellent hair rooting is the second key to great reborning. I use a 40 gauge needle and micro root one to two hairs of premium warm black angora mohair at a time. I purchase my mohair from a wonderful woman who raises angora goats and has been dying mohair for quite a while. The hair is so silky soft and very true to life looking. You must see her hair in person to see how real it looks. I take a lot of time and care to make sure the hair is rooted in a natural pattern and the hair has a life-like appearance. Her hair has been securely glued inside of her head, so Sapphire's hair can be gently washed & styled. Hi...how cute am I? She is a beautiful little baby! I love my outfit...the flowers are so pretty. Sapphire has a magnetic pacifier. Because the magnets are extremely powerful, they must be kept away from computers, electronic equipment, magnetic media and pace makers. If the magnets are a problem I would be more than happy to remove them. Sapphire's nose has been gently opened and backed with felt to make her a breather. Your Baby will be securely packaged; I take great care in making sure my babies are safe and secure for their trip to your home. Your baby will normally be delivered by Stork Mail, (USPS Priority Mail) You may also request Express Mail as an option. As far as shipping charges, I charge the actual rate based on the weight and distance. I add a four dollar handling charge to cover the costs of the packaging supplies and post office trips. I also require insurance because I can not be responsible for loss or damage to your baby. Please understand that I do not try to make any money on the shipping. International shipping is via USPS Priority Mail or Express Mail International. The Express Mail is typically not that much more and is 3-5 days instead of 6-10 days. International Bidders: Please note that any and all customs fees and duties are your responsibility. This doll does not contain any sand or other organic filler that would create a problem with customs. To be more eco friendly, I now use only 100% recyclable packaging peanuts. Please feel free to reuse them. If you do not need them, you can simply melt them in your sink with warm water; they are made of corn starch and are completely non-toxic! Sapphire has such petite features, she is just precious. Sapphire is ready to go to her special occasion.. Sapphire has a beautiful baby pedicure and manicure. Her nails have been sealed with a non-yellowing glaze. I challenge myself to create very real looking hands and feet. I take great care in picking out just the right outfits for each baby. Since all four of my children are grown, I love picking out baby clothes for my reborns. Sapphire wears newborn size clothes. Sapphire is a beautiful baby and is heirloom quality. She is a collectible and not intended for children as a play toy. I personally sign and number all of my babies. I have been creating reborns for over two years and it is an honor for me to make these beautiful babies.
