This is the replica of Aloysius, the teddy bear carried by Sir Sebastian Flyte is Brideshead Revisited, the Evelyn Waugh novel of 1945 that was adapted for television and, more recently, in film. This bear is the replica of the teddy bear named, Delicatessen, a 1907 American Ideal teddy bear, that was owned by British actor, Peter Bull .That bear was the essentail symbol for Waugh's tale of lost innocence and was the bear used in the original TV adaptation. The original is in the Teddy Bear Museum in Stratfor-upon-Avon. In 1986, the House of Nisbet celebrated it's10th anniversary with the production of two limited bears. This is the most sought after of all. This limited edition was the 80th birthday rwplica of Delicatessen. He is 15" tall and is #3898 of the limited worldwide edition of 5000. He is tucked into a British Airway bag to symbolize his tour to America with Peter Bull and wears two pins "Aloysius" and "I'm Bully Bear" and the replica Burberyy scarf found on the original.
