Description
Current Lot FANCY C. HACKER DOLLS' HOUSE WITH ELEVATOR. This grand German dolls' house has so many architectural features with a large front porch and an incredible side porch with carved columns, a large front balcony and an elaborate side balcony. The house is painted a cream color with brown timbering decorating the facade of the second story. Although there is repaint on most of the house, it still retains the original design and details. The basement has charming windows and does open outward to allow storage for a transformer for wiring of electricity. There are painted brackets under the roof and a larger center dormer and balcony on the roof. The roof has lithograph paper that appears to be replaced and also supports a chimney. The house opens from the front and has four large rooms and two hallways for the elevator that moves up and down by a clockwork mechanism. The floors and walls have been re-papered with appropriate papers. All the rooms have their original electrical outlets in the ceiling with beaded chandeliers that do work and provide lighting in the house. SIZE: 45" t x 44" w x 24" d. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ. CONDITION: The creamy yellow facade may have some touch-up but the brown timbering has been repainted. The blue outlines on the porches and brackets under the roof have been repainted. Gold paint has recently been used on the turned posts and knobs on top of the railings. The doors appear original. The base to the house has been repainted, the back of the house has original brick paper. 1-8614 (3,500-5,000)
